Charlie Appleby's champion juvenile Pinatubo (Ire) as well as Andre Fabre's Group 1 winners Earthlight (Ire) and Victor Ludorum (Ire), all sons of Shamardal campaigned by Godolphin, are among the 77 colts entered for the May 2 G1 2000 Guineas.
Other Group 1 winners engaged include the Vertem Futurity Trophy winner Kameko (Kitten's Joy) and Phoenix S. winner Siskin (GB) (First Defence), while G2 Coventry S. winner and G1 Dewhurst S. runner-up Arizona (Ire) (No Nay Never) is a high-class entry from the Aidan O'Brien yard.
Champion 2-year-old filly Quadrilateral (GB) (Frankel {GB}) is among the 62 entries for the G1 1000 Guineas on May 3, and the G1 Fillies' Mile winner's challengers could include G1 Cheveley Park S. victress Millisle (Ire) (Starspangledbanner {Aus}) and G1 Prix Marcel Boussac winner Albigna (Ire) (Zoffany {Ire}). Mark Johnston fields two high-class entries: the G2 Duchess Of Cambridge S. winner and dual Group 1-placed Raffle Prize (Ire) (Slade Power {Ire}) and the two-time Group 3 winner Rose Of Kildare (Ire) (Make Believe {GB}).
One filly who is not among the entries is the G2 May Hill S. winner and Fillies' Mile runner-up Powerful Breeze (GB) (Iffraaj {GB}). Trainer Hugo Palmer told Racing Post, “Powerful Breeze has met with a setback and will not now be able to run in the 1000 Guineas. It's very disappointing for all concerned but hopefully she'll be back in the second half of the season.”
